Kit One- Group - Numicon New Zealand

The activities in this kit build on the Foundation Stage activities and are suitable for pupils learning addition and subtraction up to 100,the number system and the clock. equivalent to Level 1 of the NZ curriculum.

Numicon Kit 1 uses the Numicon Shapes and Cuisenaire Rods to broaden pupils' number understanding. Key mathematical ideas are explained in the Teaching Guide which offers ideas for organisation and assessment. The teaching programme is on 26 illustrated activity cards. An Assessment Signposts and Record of Progress is also included.

Concepts covered include: signs of arithmetic notation + = -, consolidation of addition and subtraction facts to 10, place value, addition and subtraction to 100.

Suitable for Year One students or older children for remediation.
