Kit 3

In September 2011, we are launching Kit 3, our new course resource for age 7+. The teaching materials wil comprise:

• Engaging problem-solving activities set in real-life contexts supported by extensive practice activities.

• Activities grouped into themes to show progression, structure and to offer flexibility for teachers’ planning.

• Assessment guidance on what to look and listen for as children engage with the activities.

Interactive Whiteboard software upgrade

 

Improvements to the v2.0 of the Numicon IWB software Include:

– Fresh easy to use, more intuitive user-interface design.

– A choice of background screens and workspaces (white, buff, squared)

– Integrated pen/eraser tool with colours and highlighting options

– Larger working screen resolution to allow more objects on the workspace

– New tool palettes for copying, rotating and enlarging shapes

– Improved functionality with workspaces and linked resources

– Scrolling Numicon Number Lines up to 21

– Help options and video tutorial

– Option to automatically group objects in Numicon patterns or randomise on screen

– An extended range of resources including: blank spinners, dollars, more fractions

Numicon Homework Activities

To support students using Closing the Gap, Firm Foundations and Kits 1 and 2 with great homework activities.  There is a CD of activities ready to print out with notes for parents and a Maths Bag of resources and equipment to use with the activities.  This Maths Bag can also be purchased separately and is reasonably priced for every family to afford.
